Terms & Conditions
Effective July 7, 2026
These terms govern your use of Wirasat — the family-tree service available at wirasat.net and through the Wirasat mobile app (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, accepting an invitation to a family tree, or using a guest access code, you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
Wirasat lets a family build and maintain a private family tree: people, relationships, dates, places, stories and photos, shared only within that family. Each family's tree is managed by its own administrators, who decide who may view or edit it.
2. Accounts and access
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Family administrators are responsible for who they invite, the roles they grant (admin, editor, viewer) and the guest access codes they create and share. Guest codes should be shared carefully — anyone holding an active code can view the tree.
- You must be an adult to create or operate a Wirasat account.
3. Your content
- Everything your family adds to its tree — names, facts, notes and photos — remains yours. Wirasat claims no ownership of it.
- You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the Service: to store your content, back it up, and display it to the people your family has authorised.
- You are responsible for the content you add, including having permission from living relatives you include and the right to upload the photos you share.
- Content that is unlawful, infringing, or abusive, or that you have no right to share, is not permitted.
4. Acceptable use
- Don't attempt to access another family's tree or another person's account.
- Don't probe, disrupt or overload the Service, or attempt to bypass its security or rate limits.
- Don't use the Service to send spam or to collect information about people who have not chosen to share it with you.
5. Availability and changes
We work to keep Wirasat available and your data safe, and we may improve or change features over time. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" — we do not promise uninterrupted operation, and you should keep your own copies of photos that are precious to you.
6. Ending your use
You may stop using Wirasat at any time, and a family administrator may request deletion of the family's account and data (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms or threatens the security of the Service, and where practical we will warn you first.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wirasat and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will post the new version here and update the effective date above. Material changes will be announced to account administrators by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
